Bregenz Austria
Bregenz is situated in a lovely position on the south-east shores of Lake Constance. Famous for the Bregenz Festival, the city of just under 30,000 inhabitants is also the capital of the Vorarlberg. The generally mild climate is influenced by the lake to the north and west. To the south the wide valley leads to the other important Vorarlberg towns of Lustenau, Dornbirn and Feldkirch, while to the east lie the mountains along the German border leading up to the Kleinwalsertal and the Arlberg region. Bregenz is only a short distance from both the Swiss and German borders.
