Situated at an altitude of just under 800m, this booming village of over 3,500 inhabitants is a popular ski and summer destination. The road along the Brixental heads east to Kitzbühel and west to Wörgl and the Inn valley. The mountains of the Hohe Salve ski area are located to the north, while Westendorf's ski area is situated to the south behind the village.
