Lienz Austria
Lienz, the main settlement in the East Tyrol, lies in a wide and sunny bowl at the strategically important junction of three mountain valleys at an altitude of 700m. The town of 12,000 inhabitants is surrounded by mountains: the Lienzer Dolomites to the south and the peaks up to the Hohe Tauern to the north. To the west the Pustertal leads into Italy while to the east the Drautal heads up towards Carinthia.
