Styria Weather

Styria is one of the southern provinces of Austria and, as such, benefits from a milder climate in the lower areas. However, the mountainous parts to the north still offer glaciers and ski resorts in numbers.

Styria is the second-largest of all the Austrian provinces but only has a relatively short border section with another country, in this case Slovenia. To the west lie Carinthia and Salzburg, to the east Burgenland and to the north the provinces of Upper and Lower Austria.

The highest point in Styria is the Hoher Dachstein at just under 3000m. The lowest part of the province is in the south and east, areas which are known for their vineyards and orchards.
