Klagenfurt Austria
Klagenfurt is the capital of the southern province of Carinthia. A smallish town of just over 90,000 inhabitants, it is located at just under 450m on the eastern banks of the Wörthersee and surrounded by the hills and lakes of the central part of the province. It is not far from Slovenia and the Karawanken mountain range along the border to the south of the city. Further to the north lie the peaks and mountain resorts of the Gurktaler Alps. Klagenfurt has a generally mild climate, compared to the rest of Austria.
